Painted Patriots

Half way through and still loving every minute! The individuality brought to the games by the athletes is pretty fun for the viewer at home. Of course there are the tattoos but the nail designs are so creative!

Most people still seem pretty into it, those Visa ads that Morgan Freeman is narrating are strike a chord (at least for me) so can you imagine a time when it wasn't that commercialized. In 1952 in the US they had to hold a telethon to raise $500,000 in order to send the athletes to the games. The 14 hour telethon with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby exceeded the 500k goal raising $1 million dollars. But, once they went to collect on the pledges some people back out citing that they only needed the $500,000.

And if you are going to go the permanent route and get a tattoo, make sure somebody has access to spell check.
