Burberry Nursey is Complete!

Check out these beautiful photos taken by Rachel Kemble; http://www.rachelkemblephotography.com/

We had such a great time doing this nursery. Remember all of the challenges that it held?

Here is how we addressed them:

1. We covered most of the navy blue carpet with this great cotton area rug. This not only covered the carpet, but helped to lighten the space.

2. We used Mini cribs instead of full size cribs so that there would be ample floor space in the room for the babies to play. We checked with the manufacturer and they told us that the babies would most likely out grow the cribs only a few months before a normal, full sized crib. For this client, this was definitely the right decision. It was her idea after all!

3. Storage, we added this beautiful antique armoire that I found at a local consignment store. Not
only is it great storage, but it has a butterfly detail on the front which gives it a little kid flare.

We also installed a custom closet from the container store to help organize all of those little clothes!

4. Remember that extra door leading to the closet?

We covered it with matching drapes with the windows and placed the armoire in front of it. This helps to balance not only the red of the armoire and the chair and makes the room seem as if there are more windows.

5. We added another set of molding on the wall to create a defined space for the painted alphabet letters to be placed.

This great mirror is from West Elm. It is light and creates a focal point for the babies while they are on the changing table.

We love this red and white polka dot chair from Firefly furnishings! It reclines and is extra wide for holding 2 babies at once.

Elephants and metal storage bins bring some practicality and whimsy into the space. The elephant stools were the Dad's favorite part!

Who knew that a coat of paint could make letters from the craft store look so great?
This is my favorite part of the room. The alphabet goes around the entire top of the room.
Congratulations to our clients on their beautiful babies!!!!
