Guide to Giving: Help a Cause

Get into the holiday spirit by supporting causes in need. There are so many out there to choose from we thought we would share a few causes that are near and dear to our hearts.

Show your support for our troops! A donation to Wounded Warrior Project can aid in a soldier's physical and emotional recovery after deployment.
The cost of higher education is absolutely astronomical these days, the Kimmy Foundation believes in helping young people to reach their goals by providing scholarships to Colorado students. The foundation believes that by aiding students who exhibit character, creativity and compassion they will go on to become meaningful contributors to our society.

Be a diaper fairy! A $10 gift to helpamotherout.org can help provide a supply of diapers to a struggling mom.

Since its founding in 1910 The Denver Dumb Friends League has aided over 2 million animals. They help sick and injured animals and provide humane care to lost/abandoned animals. They also place the animals by helping them find new homes. The Denver Dumb Friends League is the largest animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain Region. My sister got her black lab from the Denver Dumb Friends League and he is the BEST DOG EVER!
Baby it's cold outside! Pay $1 extra on your monthly energy bill to help families struggling to pay their energy bill visit dollarenergyfund.org for more info.

The Two Angels Foundation was formed in memory of Rachel and Allison who suffered from Nemaline Myopothy a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. After long and hard battles both girls passed away at the age of five. While the girls were alive they wanted nothing more than to get outside, play, have fun and just be kids! Two Angels strives to promote this wish by providing adaptive equipment (like bikes) and recreational equipment for physically disabled children.

What about you? Do you have a cause that is important to you that you are donating to this holiday season? If so share with us in the comment section.

Guide to Giving: Tots, Kids, Little Ones

It's not really about what to buy that kiddo in your life- it's what not buy! Everything is so stinkin' cute that it is hard to resist swiping everything up. Here are just a few suggestions if you are looking for something for a youngin'.
The Elf on the Shelf Book is a huge phenomenom and is a fun activity for the whole family.
The Eco Play mat $31.49 can just be used as a floor covering or when cars and blocks are added it can transport the kids to a whole other world.
It seems anything with wheels will grab the attention of a little boy the Kid O Go Car Blue $8.99 is made for 1+ and we love the rounded handle on top.
With all the adorable clothes out there for tots some seem to be borrowing a little too much adult inspiration. The Bon Bon Red John Johns $60 take me back to a more traditional time when kids dressed as kids!
And the cordoroy pink Garden Princess Dress $48 reminds me of the dresses we wore as children. Adding the monogram will really show that you were thoughtful about the gift.

How about some super durable dinnerware for when the plate if flung across the room.
Teach them to be tidy at an early age with the Animal Swing Lid Can $11.99 they will enjoy tossing things in the trash.
Britt had giant cardboard box left over when her gliders were delivered and Hudson had a blast making the box in his own little playhouse. Guarantee the Corrugated Playhouse $29.99 would light up some faces.
OH MY GOSH! Do you think think the Pink Silly Sole Baby Shoes $38.50 come in adult sizes?

Nursery of the Week: Lime and the coconut

The texture of the walls and the choice of green accent color totally remind me of the song Lime and the Coconut. This nursery belongs to the owner of the online mecca Pieces. Seagrass on the walls and ceiling, the little hanging rod that acts as the closet is a great idea for those tiny clothes and the modern and mature light fixture and chair are pretty rockin!
