Usually there is a theme here. Not today, these are just images I have had set aside for a long time that have no particular relation to one another except that I liked what I saw. Maybe you will to. Like this chair, that is a pretty sick upholstery job.
Mirrors in the garden. Sounds like and HBO special. By the way there is something green in your teeth.
Rad specialty lighting
Good arrangement, bar area to the right, sectional and living area.
It's all in the details
Yum!
Ha! I am totally gonna package cheerios like this from now on.
B - made me think of your d-room concept with a pine table, parsons chairs and benches
Oooh, have we got the dish today. An entertainment reporter with a drop dead glamorous house. Lara Spencer, from "The Insider" and "Antiques Roadshow" moved to California and revamped a misunderstood modern into a fantastic tribute it deserved, there is even a circular couch and metallic wallpaper to boot. She likes the thrill of the hunt and many of her finds are from flea markets or picked up on eBay, etc. She was developing a new show called "Flea flip" a reality competition where contestants do their best to re image a flea market find into something great, but I haven't seen anything on the tube lately.
Her son's room. The comic artwork is excellent. I first saw something like those in, of all places, the lobby of Macys. And we are not talking Macys in NYC - nope the Macy's in the burbs.
Daughter's room
Shazam!
Hell yeah
High Five Lara Spencer - you did good.
That is one crazy, stepping-stone stairway. Totally awesome, but too many cocktails by the pool and you could go over the edge and end up in the neighbors succulent garden. Lara probably has stellar balance from teetering on high heels on the red carpet and yoga.
As much as I would love to brag that Lara invited me over for said cocktails to photograph her home I will shock you by telling you that is just not the case. This story was from the LA Times Home section.
I think this is from Kenneth Brown of HGTV fame? Can't remember, but the contrast of the dark and moody grey wall color and the bright pink is spot on. What a fun out of the box idea to add the butterflies along the wall and ceiling! Don' they look like they are flapping their wings in this photo? And the artwork - such a fun piece.
Moming is all about multi-tasking. Since time is precious this was a good option for thank you notes for Hudson's recent birthday. Plus its such a cute pic of the Buddy:)
Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Father's Day!
There are all these totally over the top options these days for parties, seriously crepe paper and balloons are bush league. The whole idea of a lounge at a cocktail party was something I wanted to do for a long time. Convincing the powers that be (meaning those that distribute the ca$h money) was challenging. They didn't get it. It happens a lot in design. But, I persisted and I am so glad I did. I absolutely loved the result as did those "powers that be", really, I have never seen them so enthusiastic about something.
The venue was a one huge, open space that we had the task of making feel more intimate on a really, really limited budget. We were going to buy the furniture for the set up since this is annual event but had no place to store it so... we went the rental route. I went on a hunt and found Design Works. They were outstanding - truly fantastic customer service and thus they get a super seal of approval. I picked out the furniture for the set up, they delivered it and arranged it to our specifications. As soon as the party was over they came right back, on time, and swooped it all up and carted it away.
