Whalepaper

There are so many adorable and clever options for wallpaper out there these days but this particular print with the whales really caught my eye. It is kind of mod, graphic and playful and it would be fantastic for a kids room or a bathroom.

The Little Whales variation comes to us from PottokPrints. Pottok wallpapers are hand silk-screened locally in Los Angeles. They use recyclable paper and water-based inks, which mean no varsols are used in any part of the printing process. Papers are not treated with chemical waterproofing of any kind resulting in a healthier more environmental product that is both beautiful and durable.

Geoff McFetridge is the artist behind these wonderful whales.

The paper is available in three different colorways. This white with the light blue, a white with navy and cream with grey.

Art work can make or break a room in my opinion and it is usually added as an afterthought. This doesn't mean you need to shell out the big bucks for a great piece. Movie Posters are a fun and accessible option and they can add so much personality to a room. The styles range from modern, graphic, gripping, simple, colorful, calm, vintage, commercial, artsy and everything in between, that's why they are such a good option there is something for everyone.

Owl's Roost Nursery

Remember our post called Mural Much? Well here is the finished product!
We created this little nest for my nephew who, ironically, has been looking very similar to Woodstock the little yellow bird on the Peanuts cartoons!

His nursery was a combination of old and new. The mural, the bench, and the chair with ottoman are new. The crib was his older sister's, and the changer was his dad's changer when he was a baby!
We wanted to inject lots of warmth with a natural kind of feel into this space by combining materials and textures.

We hand painted interesting designs on some bird houses purchased from the craft store and alternated them with rough wood frames. They are hanging out of reach above his crib from some branches. Lots to look at!

The ceiling was painted a soft sky blue to balance the blue of the chair and to make the space feel warmer.

Here is the little man himself, taking a snooze in his nest!!!
