Clear Eyes, Full Hearts Can't Lose... the Emmy

So happy to see that Kyle Chandler got a well deserved and long overdue Emmy last night. Nice one Coach Taylor! Friday Night Lights I miss you so.
UPDATE (9/21): LOOK!!!!! at what my college roomie just put up on FB. She got a last minute ticket to the Emmys, sat front row, RIGHT NEXT TO KYLE CHANDLER AND CONNIE BRITTON.

Barn Tour

Over the weekend we went on a "Barn Tour" in the old nabe. It was OUTSTANDING! Oddly, none of these barns had that eau de manure wafting through that we were treated to as youngsters when we were out there mucking stalls for 4H * need to find out their secret. We kept marveling that the lucky owners could have these spreads and then be only a 25 minute ride from downtown Denver.
Barn #1 was the Crown Jewel of the tour, all the wood was reclaimed from old barns in Montana and it was constructed in the North West Style.
Such cool light fixtures that had push button switches (which I forgot to photograph)
The grounds were immaculate and with all the Aspen, Evergreen trees and wild flowers it felt very Colorado.
 Barn #2
 Great rocking porch

At Barn #3 I forgot to take pictures of the actual structure: I was distracted by the adorableness of the mini-horses and the beautiful owl and hawk from the Raptor presentation.

Black Kitchens Part 2

See the detail at the base of the cabinetry - makes it feel more like furniture and less static. The rest of the design is pretty simple.
 Great ceiling
Tori Spelling's old "TV" kitchen. Think they sold that house.
Starting to wonder if black kitchens are overtaking the all white version in popularity. This last one is the bomb - think it is Miles Redd.

Nursery of the Week: Cool and Casual

This nursery is totally appealing because of the casual nature of the room. It seems like a space that you could sit down and instantly feel "at home" in.

Missoni at Target : A Report from the front lines

Text from Brit "Came to get formula...The racks r literally empty. People were lined up 100 deep at target for Missoni. Crazy"

This was at 12:30 at the Glendale Target. Anybody else have any luck?

A Breakfast Nook by Hudson Baby Design

Thought we would show you a quick peek at another of our completed projects. This breakfast nook is a well used family space that got ramped up with some bold and vibrant touches making both modern and eclectic. There are still classical elements to be found here, like the pendant light and the chairs, but they have new metallic finishes that make them more modern.

Remember these chairs? A great re-vamp project, that with a little paint and new fabric totally changed the look.

The antique doors are really the focul point of the nook and with them bolted to the wall they aren't going anywhere soon :) A fun cow hide rug, some layered window treatments add texture and a sculptural table base topped with glass round out the room.

There you have it! We aren't just about nurseries and kids rooms, we also enjoy designing grown up spaces.
