Howdy Hi- so the baby boys are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, wrap your head around that! Gonna step away from the ole blog for a little while for maternity leave. Thanks to all those that stopped by and checked out our musings over the past year - we'll be back! In the meantime go and check out Katie's blog - she has a super fun blog and offers great recipes and she has been a loyal follower/commenter of this blog so show her some love. See you in the spring!

Double Decker
I owe you dear readers a couple of posts huh? So, let's double up. There are babies coming so we need to prep. We are talking strollers here for more than one kid-let. There is the Bumble Ride Indie Twin that costs a pretty penny at $679.99.
The double Bob for side by side action. For $483 its tried and true if a little bulky.
The Baby Jogger City Select has 16 different possible configurations. $549 on Amazon.
Thoughts? Other suggestions? Seen them cheaper anywhere?

Nursery of the Week: Lemon Sorbet
Talk about the effects of your paint color choice- this yellow combined with the large windows make this nursery so bright and airy. This is also a good example of working with angles in a room. Not all rooms are perfect squares with matching wall sizes.
Oh, Hi there! I like that pink and white striped rug you are hanging out on.
The modern lines of this crib and the ghost chair help to break up the traditional elements of this room.

Can't burn dinner in this oven
This little play kitchen that Rachel of Southern Exposure made for her daughter makes me jealous. She used a closet, removed the doors and then took two nightstands that they weren't using, reconfigured them into an oven and cabinet. Topped with some painted mdf and authentic knobs and facucet and there ya go!

Re-think: Mirrors in the Bathroom
Guess what? You don't have to use a medicine cabinet or the unframed, flush wall mount mirrors that are typical in most bathrooms. Add something totally unexpected like these ornate, antiques. Something like this tends to be more functional in a bathroom that is not used a lot like a powder room. See that copper bowl above used for the sink basin- very cool! But note that with copper there are quite a few cleaners and solvents that you cannot use on the copper finish, just fyi.
The smaller size and shape frees up space along that back wall and then you can add more lighting like the sconces in these pics.

Nursery of the Week: Rode-O Chic
The Stock Show is in town - for those of you that don't know that means the RODEO and all its fixins! Went yesterday and caught the Reigning (it's like figure skating for horses - not on ice- but with routines, tricks, music and costumes) and it was amazing! After wandering around the Expo Hall which has everything from veggie slicers and custom chaps to deluxe trailers and fine art I got all in to the cowboy chic. This nursery also accomplishes that. I think it's the Stark antelope carpet that does it for me.

30 day grace period for thank you notes- right?
Cuz I have written any yet! But I did receive a super fantastic one from my friend and I thought it was such a good idea. Since she has an infant, she has been churning out the thank you notes for, oh say, since right after she announced her pregnancy (at least)! Baby girl was extra good and Santa brought sacks full of stuff at Christmas. The fact that the gifts have to be acknowledged and properly thanked of course falls on to mama. It being like the fifth go round of cards she changed things up this time by picking out a few of her favorite photos and then getting tons of prints made. She just bought plain card stock and affixed the photo to the front. Love it - and it doesn't even matter what it says inside cause that picture just melts your heart. Jk! She is very clever and the note is funny.
